Allan Shivers Park
Named after former Texas Governor and former Chairman of the TSRHC Board of Trustees Allan Shivers, the park was designed to allow ease to access and appropriate range-of-motion activities for children at all levels of physical ability. Last year more than 10,000 people enjoyed the park’s amenities.
Allan Shivers Park is currently under construction, re-opening in Summer 2014. We apologize for any inconvenience as we renovate our park for TSRHC patient families and friends!
Jas. F. Chambers, Jr. Youth Fitness Park
TSRHC’s four-acre park was created to provide a safe outdoor area for patients and families to play. The park features a tennis court, three adjustable height basketball goals, a quarter-mile walking/wheeling trail, three disc golf baskets, a bocce ball court, a putting green, a veranda with tables and chairs, a pavilion with restrooms and water fountains and a beautiful lawn for games.
Patients and families may use our play equipment. The hospital security officer at the park will supervise check out and return of the equipment. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., seven days a week, and children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
T. Boone Pickens Training and Conference Center
The 23,000-square-foot T. Boone Pickens Training and Conference Center opened in 2009 thanks to an $8 million gift from T. Boone Pickens. Since that time, more than 40,000 visitors have been introduced to the hospital through this outstanding addition to the TSRHC facility. For more information about the conference center, please call (214) 559-8423.
