Becoming a Junior Volunteer

The following information is for those individuals ages 14 to 17 who have not previously participated in the Bernice and Brudus Meyerson Junior Volunteer Program. Returning Junior Volunteers, please go to the Returning Junior Volunteers page to learn more about participating the 2016 summer.

Step One: Sign up and Attend an Information Session

Sign ups for information sessions regarding the 2016 summer program will be available
December 1, 2015.

At the information session, you will learn:

  • About Volunteer Services at TSRHC

  • How Junior Volunteers serve at TSRHC

  • What is expected of a Junior Volunteer

  • Next steps to becoming a Junior Volunteer (application and process)

All information sessions will be from 5:30 pm to 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium in the T. Boone Pickens Training and Conference Center at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. 

A parent or guardian is required to attend. 

Step Two: Complete a Junior Volunteer Application

Applications will ONLY be distributed at the information sessions. Application due date and additional program dates will be included. 

Completed applications may be dropped off in person or mailed to:

Note: If you chose to mail your application, it must be post marked by the due date. 

Step Three: Face-to-Face Interview

After your application has been reviewed, you will be contacted to schedule an interview.  

Step Four: Orientation

Orientation is required for all new and returning junior volunteers. Dates and times will be given during the information session.  Each orientation is two days. Volunteers are required to complete a tuberculosis screen prior to their start date, which is offered free of charge during orientation by our Employee Health Department.
