During the kickoff event, TSRHC patients and siblings will begin creating holiday-themed artwork, with the help of Dallas ISD art students, to submit for a chance to win holiday gift cards, courtesy of Reliant Energy. Patients also will spend time with local media personalities and representatives from the Texas Rangers. The contest will run Oct. 29 - Nov. 10. Winning entries will be selected Nov. 11, and they will be showcased at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center during the ICE! Exhibit, beginning Nov. 14.
To highlight energy efficiency, TSRHC patients and siblings entering the contest should integrate at least one energy-saving compact fluorescent light (CFL) in their holiday artwork. The contest is organized around Reliant Energy’s Power Pact Program (reliant.com/powerpact), which urges Texans to switch from standard incandescent bulbs to more energy-efficient compact fluorescent lights.
