12th Annual Treasure Street Raises More Than $675,000 for
Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children
(DALLAS – November 23, 2007) Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) in Dallas proudly announces that it received more than $675,000 from its annual Treasure Street event, held October 11. All proceeds from Treasure Street benefit the patients at TSRHC.
Friends and supporters gathered at Highland Park Village, located at Mockingbird Lane and Preston, for a spectacular evening under the stars. More than 1,100 attendees had the opportunity to bid on magnificent auction items, including exclusive access to New York Fashion Week, fine jewelry, antiques and a painting created by TSRHC patients and local artist Christopher H. Martin of Christopher H. Martin Gallery Five. Restaurants located in Highland Park Village donated all catering for the evening and Professor D provided live entertainment. The 2007 Treasure Street event chairs were Christie and Frank Scardino and the honorary event chairs were Harold and Annette Simmons.
The silent and live auction items were some of the event’s most exciting highlights. Emcees for the evening, Todd Whitthorne, president and C.O.O. of Cooper Concepts, Inc., and Daryl Johnston, former Dallas Cowboys fullback, hosted the live auction. A trip to the Master’s aboard a private jet proved to be the most sought after item, going through many rounds of bidding before the winner was able to claim their prize. The live and silent auction raised more than $165,000 for the hospital.
Treasure Street was established in 1996 by a group of TSRHC patient families with children affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). The event has grown from a small gathering to an outdoor gala under the stars with hundreds of attendees, extravagant auction items, five-star cuisine and proceeds to date exceeding $4 million.
