Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children Announces
Second Annual Central Texas Golf Classic Officers, Board
(DALLAS – April 15, 2009) — Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) in Dallas recently announced the 2009 Central Texas Golf Classic officers and board members at the home of Judy and Jerry Diamond in Austin, Texas. The second annual tournament benefiting TSRHC will be held Monday, April 27, at Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Austin, Texas. As special friends of TSRHC and active members of the community in the Austin area, each officer and board member will help to raise awareness of TSRHC through this invitational golf tournament. TSRHC is a pediatric orthopedic hospital that treats children throughout the state of Texas and strives to improve the care of children worldwide through innovative research and teaching programs.
The chairman of the 2009 Central Texas Golf Classic board is I. Craig Hester, and honorary chairmen are David Ewalt, M.D., and Jerry Gray. Central Texas Golf Classic board members include Sally Allen, Brent Buckman, Matt Burns, Michael Christman, Buster Creagh, Allyson Crow, Jerry Diamond, Judy Jarmon Diamond, Carl Frenkel, Jo Ann Howard, Robert Hoyt, Pete Laney, Ed Lewis, M.D., Janet Lewis, Christi Massey, Daniel Massey, Greg Meserole, Hank Mitchell, J. C. Montgomery, Jr., Robert Northcutt, Ph.D., Stephanie Panozzo, John Pigg, Jeff Robinson, H.H. (Hank) Rothell, Jr., Bryon Sehlke, Carol Wackman, Ralph Wayne and Peter Whalen.
It is through the support of individuals, corporations, foundations and through special events, such as the Central Texas Golf Classic, that the hospital has been able to provide premier medical care to thousands of Texas children, including those in the Austin area, at no charge to patient families. Proceeds from this year’s Central Texas Golf Classic will support the establishment of the hospital’s Center for Excellence in Hip Disorders, which has an operating budget of $5.7 million over the next five years.
