Support the Renovation of Allan Shivers Park

The Allan Shivers Park, directly across from the hospital, has provided a recreational haven for TSRHC patients, families and community members for 25 years. To continue to fulfill the park's intended purposes a renovation is necessary.

Named after former Texas Governor and former Chairman of the TSRHC Board of Trustees Allan Shivers, the park was designed to allow ease to access and appropriate range-of-motion activities for children at all levels of physical ability. Last year more than 10,000 people enjoyed the park's amenities.

The cost of the current park was underwritten by generous support from the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (now TEXO, the Construction Association), the Telephone Pioneers Club and Trustee Austin Watson. The cost to renovate the park, using state-of-the-art design and equipment, is estimated to be more than $600,000.
