Orthofix International Signs Exclusive License Agreement with
Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children
10-year agreement provides for development and marketing collaboration for
external fixation systems

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C., June 2, 2008 – Orthofix International N.V. (NASDAQ:OFIX) (the Company) announced today that through its subsidiary, Orthofix, Inc., it has entered into a 10-year exclusive license agreement with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) extending their current collaboration which provides the TRUE/LOK™ External Fixation System to the global orthopedic market.

Through Orthofix, Inc., the Company develops, manufactures and distributes fixation devices for the $350 million global external fixation market. TRUE/LOK™ is a versatile, lightweight system designed to correct limb deformities, treat bone fractures and lengthen limbs using a simpler frame. In addition to marketing the current TRUE/LOK™ system, the arrangement provides for TSRHC and Orthofix to collaborate in the development and marketing of future versions of the TRUE/LOK™ system introduced to the medical community during the term of the agreement.

Researchers at TSRHC first developed the TRUE/LOK™ External Fixation System in 1993, which is a modified design of the device created by Dr. Gavriil Ilizarov of Russia. Having studied under Dr. Ilizarov, researchers at TSRHC were able to create TRUE/LOK™, which is considered one of the most advanced circular fixators. Orthofix first obtained the rights to market TRUE/LOK™ in 2006. Since that time, the Company and TSRHC have trained an extensive number of surgeons in the U.S. and around the world in the use of the device through both the hospital’s training programs and the Orthofix Training Academy.

“Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is pleased to continue working with Orthofix to help thousands of children treated at TSRHC and worldwide with bone injuries and limb-length differences,” said J. C. Montgomery, Jr., president of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. “Patient care, research and education are the pillars of TSRHC’s orthopedic work, and this collaboration represents an important opportunity to provide better treatments for our patients, to further research and continue to advance professional medical education.”

Michael Simpson, President of Orthofix Inc, said “For over thirty years Orthofix has been dedicated to the advancement of external fixation treatments for patients. We look forward to our continued collaboration with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, which is renowned globally as a world-class healthcare provider. We are excited to have the opportunity to work with TSRHC to continue bringing these important advances in treatment to patients around the world.”

Orthofix International’s CEO, Alan Milinazzo, added, “this agreement demonstrates the Company’s commitment to maintain its role as a significant participant in the global orthopedic fixation market. This collaboration partnership is an important example of our ongoing focus on the development of innovative, minimally invasive treatments around the world.”
