Development Disabilities - Advance Practice Nurse (Part-Time)
This part-time position will assist in all phases of the planning and implementation of clinical, programmatic, and educational initiatives focused on patients with developmental disabilities and their families. The APN will participate in departmental activities in the areas of Medical Care, Professional Training and Education, Patient/Family Education, Advocacy for children with special needs, and Research. Applicants must be a graduate from an approved school of nursing with a Texas RN license and graduate from an accredited educational program with Advance Practice Nurse recognition by the Texas Board of Nursing Examiners. Inpatient Nursing – Registered Nurse
Primary duties include prescribing, delegating and coordinating nursing care provided on a pediatric unit. Our hospital cares for infant – through adolescent-aged children with medical, surgical, orthopedic or neurological conditions. Performance Improvement – Infection Control RN
This position supports the infection control efforts throughout the entire hospital while working alongside performance improvement initiatives. Will be responsible for tracking infection control issues with inpatients, outpatients and staff members. A qualified candidate should be Registered Nurse with APIC certification, have experience in a hospital setting and be familiar with JCAHO standards regarding infection control. Inpatient Nursing –Nurse Tech (Part-Time)

Orthotic Technician
This position fabricates orthoses as directed by orthotists and delegated by the Laboratory Supervisor, consistent with departmental scopes of practice. Cares for and comes in contact with infants, toddlers, preschool, schoolage, and adolescent patients, with concomitant dealings with adult caretakers. Inventory, track and order materials and equipment. Create positive plaster molds; strip negative casts; thermoform plastic; cut out, grind and smooth plastic edges; contour, drill, polish and attach metal-work; attach closure systems to orthoses as requested; sew materials as required; assist orthotists with patients on a PRN basis. Must be a Registered Orthotic Technician with The American Board for Certification and in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. Must have sufficient knowledge and capability to fabricate all types of orthoses produced by the Orthotics Department. Physical Therapist
This position evaluates patients and sets realistic goals that are age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate. Demonstrates knowledge of child development, which is basic to quality care of infants, toddlers, pre-school and school-age children and adolescents. Position plans treatment programs to achieve goals set for patients. Should be a graduate of an approved school of physical therapy, licensed to practice in the state of Texas, eligible for membership in the American Physical Therapy Association and certified in CPR. Research – Histotechnologist
This position is responsible for supporting research projects in tissue preparation, microtomy, staining, mounting, special procedures, histochemistry, hard tissue histology and image analysis of pathological specimens.
