LOCAL 14-YEAR-OLD TO PARTICIPATE IN LEARN TO GOLF CLINIC DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN WITH PHYSICAL CHALLENGES

Golf and allied healthcare professionals
WHAT: TSRHC patients will participate in a Learn to Golf clinic taught by golf and allied healthcare professionals specially trained to teach children with physical challenges. Junior golfers will learn about golf safety, etiquette, driving, chipping and putting.
TSRHC’s Learn to Golf program is designed for patients with challenging physical conditions. Learn to Golf provides the tools and instruction needed for patients to participate in and reap the rehabilitative benefits of golf.
The Learn to Golf program is supported by the National Alliance for Accessible Golf. The program also has received support from the United States Golf Association (USGA), PGA TOUR Charities, Wadsworth Golf Charities Foundation, Northern Texas PGA and other generous donors. There is no charge for patients to participate.

ABOUT BRYCE MARTIN: Bryce Martin, age 14 of Wichita Falls, Texas, has been a patient at TSRHC for the past three years and receives treatment at the hospital for arthritis. This fall, Bryce will be a freshman at S. H. Rider High School where he will play on the golf team. Bryce participated in the Texoma Junior Golf Association (TJGA) this summer, which is one of the most successful junior golf tournament series in the area as well as the state. Bryce has also been an avid hockey player since he was 5 years old. During the school year, he helps the coaches of the local youth hockey league teach younger children to skate. Passionate about all sports, Bryce also loves golf and is excited to participate in his second Learn to Golf clinic.
