Local 7-year-old Participates in Learn to Golf Clinic
Designed for Children With Physical Challenges
Ashton "Reid" Fugate to Practice Golf at Event for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Chidren Patients
WHO:
Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) patients, families and staff

Golf and allied healthcare professionals
WHAT:
TSRHC patients will participate in a Learn to Golf clinic taught by golf and allied healthcare professionals specially trained to teach children with physical challenges. Junior golfers will learn about golf safety, etiquette, driving, chipping and putting.
Support for the Learn to Golf program is provided by funds from TSRHC donors, local businesses and individuals, Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA), Wadsworth Golf Charities Foundation and a multiyear grant provided by the United States Golf Association to aid in the expansion and enhancement of the program. There is no charge for patients to participate.

ABOUT ASHTON "REID" FUGATE:
Ashton “Reid” Fugate, age 7 of Tyler, Texas, has received treatment at TSRHC for the past five years for an orthopedic condition. This will be Reid’s first time to participate in a Learn to Golf clinic, and he is looking forward to the clinic. Reid is active in sports, and in addition to golf, he enjoys basketball, football and soccer.
