Event: Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics: Topics for the Primary Care Clinician

About:  "Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics: Topics for the Primary Care Clinician" will be presented Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. This course is designed for pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners and other allied health professionals caring for children. Speakers include national expert Lynn M. Wegner, M.D., addressing “Language Disorders: Identification, Impact, Management and Outcomes” and “Fears, Worries and Anxiety Across Developmental Stages” and Golder N. Wilson, M.D., on “A Practical Approach to the Child with Developmental Delay: A Genetic Perspective.” Other topics include “Disruptive Behaviors in Children: Supporting Families and Management Techniques” and “Dyslexia: Principles of Etiology, Evaluation and Management.” Case studies during lunch provide additional learning opportunities. The $100 registration fee includes syllabus materials, continental breakfast and lunch. AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ will be provided.

About:  This seminar is designed for Texas educators with some experience in the dyslexia identification process who would like to review, refine and update their knowledge.

Who should attend:
• dyslexia designees
• dyslexia resource persons
• assessment personnel
• educators responsible for administering tests and performance measures and using results to identify students with dyslexia and recommend placement.

A certificate of attendance will be provided for documentation of CEUs.

About:  Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children invites you to a seminar presented by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders designed to help parents, and those who advise and counsel them, to support the academic success of children with dyslexia from the pre-school through college years.

All presentations will be held in the T. Boone Pickens Training and Conference Center at TSRHC. Attendance is free but space is limited. Please RSVP to 214-559-7800 by March 24, 2010.
