14TH ANNUAL TREASURE STREET RAISES MORE THAN $585,000 FOR TEXAS SCOTTISH RITE HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN

(DALLAS – November 30, 2009) - Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) proudly announces that Treasure Street, the hospital’s signature event, raised more than $585,000 this year. All proceeds from Treasure Street, a live and silent auction, benefit the patients at TSRHC.

More than 1,000 people came together for the 14th annual Treasure Street event. This year’s magical “Evening in Paris” offered all of the excitement of the “City of Lights” in Dallas’ landmark Highland Park Village. Guests enjoyed a spectacular night full of fine cuisine, couture fashion and live entertainment by Dallas’ favorite Beatles cover band, A Hard Night’s Day. The restaurants of Highland Park Village generously donated decadent cuisine for guests to enjoy while bidding on fabulous finds in the live and silent auctions. Guests had the opportunity to bid on items such as a Ralph Lauren private shopping experience, an iPod loaded with 3,000 of local deejay Lucy Wrubel’s favorite songs as well as an original painting titled “Oui, Oui Paris” created by TSRHC patients and local artist Christopher H. Martin. The 2009 Treasure Street honorary event chairmen were Pat and Claude Prestidge, M.D., and the event chairmen were Peggy and Dan Meyer, M.D.

Treasure Street was established by a group of TSRHC patient families with children affected by tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Through the years, event proceeds have provided important funds for the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Clinic at TSRHC supporting advances in research, such as the development of a commercial DNA test for TSC, a landmark breakthrough that benefits all children. Thanks to the support of Treasure Street, the TSC Clinic is a model clinic for others throughout the world today.

In 2007, the Treasure Street board voted to establish Treasure Street as the hospital’s signature event, benefiting all children treated at TSRHC and continuing to provide important funds for the treatment and research of TSC.
