When our friends get together over coffee, amazing things happen!
In 1998, hospital Trustees Dan Davidson and Graham Childress, along with a handful of philanthropic colleagues and community members, gathered together to brainstorm ways to raise awareness of Scottish Rite's incredible work in the West Texas area. On that day the San Angelo Sporting Clay Shoot was born.
For nearly 20 years, the shoot has helped Scottish Rite Hospital touch the lives of thousands of West Texas children, and has made tons of loyal friends who continue to advocate for the hospital's work year after year. Tournament participants come from across the state and around the country, and range in ability level from first-time shooter to seasoned expert. And although the last two decades have introduced thousands of new supporters with loads of new energy, ideas and enthusiasm, the goal of the shoot remains the same: to give Scottish Rite Hospital the means to provide the best possible medical care to children, regardless of any family's ability to pay.
