Performs a variety of duties involved in preparing, maintaining and processing health information data. High school degree or equivalent required with a minimum of two years general office experience required, preferably in a medical office or medical record department setting. A minimum typing speed of 30 wpm required. Sound knowledge of procedures and ability to learn multiple procedures in assigned areas; must demonstrate the ability to use independent judgment in resolving issues within established guidelines and schedule time to meet deadlines. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of a PC and ability to use required software. Communicate effectively with hospital staff and display interpersonal skills working with others. Demonstrates appropriate telephone manner, basic grammar and spelling skills. Medical terminology helpful. Mon. - Fri., Day Shift.
