Lawson A. B. Copley, M.D.
Dr. Lawson Copley is a staff orthopaedist at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Dr. Copley graduated magna cum laude from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, and received his medical degree from Kansas University Medical Center. He completed both his internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received the Stanley M. K. Chung Award for Excellence in Pediatric Orthopaedic Research. Dr. Copley also completed the Dorothy and Bryant Edwards Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics and Scoliosis at TSRHC. He is an associate professor in the department of orthopaedic surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and on the medical staff of Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Dr. Copley served in the United States Air Force as chief of surgical services, 96th Medical Group, and was honored with the Henry H. “Hap” Arnold Leadership Excellence Award, the Joint Services Achievement Award and the Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Copley is a Candidate Fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
