Karl E. Rathjen, M.D.
Dr. Karl Rathjen is a staff orthopaedist at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He is an honor graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and received his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Rathjen completed his general surgery internship and his orthopaedic surgery residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He completed his fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at Children’s Hospital San Diego. Dr. Rathjen is a professor in the department of orthopaedic surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas; Division Director of Pediatric Orthopaedic Services, Children's Medical Center Dallas and an associate attending staff member at Baylor University Medical Center and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Dr. Rathjen is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons; the American Medical Association; the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine; the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America; the Texas Orthopaedic Association; and the Scoliosis Research Society. Dr. Rathjen has served as Associate Editor, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research since 2008 and is a Consultant Reviewer for the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics and Spine.
